The New Banner Estrella Medical Campus and Medical Campus of Banner Health System is a state-of-the-art facility (touted as the hospital of the future) designed to transform the healthcare experience through a combination of technology, facility and quality trained medical staff. The 440,000 SF, 164-bed acute-care hospital includes emergency, obstetrics, medical/surgical, cardiology and cardiac surgery capabilities, and has the ability to grow to 400-600 beds in the future. The design focuses on complete flexible and adaptable use, effective information technology, ambulatory diagnostic and treatment focus, operational efficiency, service excellence, and a healing environment. Banner Health Systems and the designers incorporate soothing elements, nature, light, color and comfortable furnishings to create an environment conducive to healing.
Efficient and effective processes of care serve as a cornerstone for BHS’s operations. Multi-disciplinary clinical teams with aligned functional adjacencies are incorporated into the design to optimize efficiency and effectiveness throughout the facility. Service and satisfaction are measured at all levels of the patient and family, employee and physician. Patients have choices and flexibility in their care with amenities such as room service. The needs of the family and care partner are addressed as an encompassing approach to the treatment of the patient.
