John C Lincoln Hospital Deer Valley
Phoenix, AZ
In response to extreme market increases, John C. Lincoln’s Deer Valley Campus was forced to make renovations and additions to their ICU, ED, and OR departments. Orcutt | Winslow worked with user groups including staff and physicians to improve wayfinding, circulation and overall efficiency for these departments as a short-term solution in preparation for a future master plan and expansion.
The initial objective included determining the maximum build-out of the campus by taking into account known program priorities and site development. This was accomplished by keeping balance among patient beds, diagnostics and therapeutic services, support, and administrative functions. The second objective was to prioritize options and develop a Phase 1 of the Master Plan before escalation.
-
Phase 1 achieved:
- 60 additional beds: new medical/surgical and critical care beds/nursing support space
- A new emergency department and expanded children’s outpatient services
- Expanded imaging and surgery
- Expanded mechanical and storage space
- Elevator and corridor realignments to separate clinical and public circulation
- Expansion of site access roadway and surface parking/ new public visitor parking ramp
