Fisk University has a big vision to take the university to new heights. With current enrollment at 780 on a campus of 48 acres, Fisk University is planning to increases its numbers to 1,500 in the next 2-3 years and 2,000 in 5 years. Their mission is to emphasize the discovery and advancement of knowledge through research in the natural and social sciences, business and the humanities. The new campus masterplan puts this in the forefront and prepares Fisk University to advance their growth and sustain its mission. The masterplan includes a new dorm adding 250 beds and addressing future growth and out of state enrollment. A new Roland Parish Building acting as administrative and a multipurpose hub. With science a key specialty of the university, a new science building is included that acts as a site of prominence with the university. A large arena is planned to accommodate 5,000+ guests while elevating athletics of the school. The existing library and student center is planned for renovation the will give opportunities for honoring civil rights and its impact. The campus masterplan also includes various renovations and expansions to the aging campus through the cafeteria, various houses and classroom buildings throughout.
