Union Hospital HUX Cancer Center

Terre Haute, Indiana

Union Hospital’s new comprehensive Medical and Radiation Oncology facility, while adhering to budget constraints and an aggressive schedule, welcomes its clients with a light and open entrance.

Our understanding of healthcare operations allowed us to unite operational efficiencies, a healing environment with the latest technological advancements in cancer care. A shelled-out accelerator vault and programming for a future Proton Therapy addition prepares Union Hospital for expected growth patterns.

The 88,000 square foot, three-story building features a modern glass skin with brick and limestone accents. The first floor houses Radiation Oncology. The design features a high-density radiation simulator, CT scanner, and three linear accelerator vaults, one of which was shelled for future technology. In the accelerator vaults, large panoramic views integrate the spirit of nature through virtual windows and skylights in an effort to ease patient fears and promote healing. The second floor includes Medical Oncology with exam rooms, open chemotherapy chair areas, and private rooms, and the third floor is shell space.
