ASU Student Health Center
Arizona State University grew from 23,400 in 1968 to its current enrollment of 60,000+, making ASU the largest university in the country. Nothing had changed at the Student Health Center during that time. As patient volumes and service demands increased, the facility structure became an impediment to healthcare delivery, increasing wait times, reducing patient throughput, and dissatisfying patients and staff alike.
A Meaningful Design.
The story of the Hashan Khek Multipurpose building integrates the importance of its community by weaving together the contours of the land, the views of Yellow Peak, the textures of traditional baskets, and the inspiration of the Saguaro into a design rich in meaning to its inhabitants.
Located near one of the largest retirement communities, and being the premier tertiary facility for Southern Nevada, St Rose Dominican Hospital Sienna responded to an ever growing critical capacity level with an efficient and effective 220,000 square foot tower expansion.
