Estrella Mountain Community College Performing Arts Center

The 25,000 SF performing arts center features a main house for 295-patrons, a separate black box theater, dance studio, and various labs focusing on integrating digital scenography into production performances. The building is sited on the opposite end of the central mall which has been in development for years. This facility provides the final bookend to this main student space on campus. Locating the PAC here at the heart of the campus places art as an important part of the fabric of the campus, and not some fringe program. The design inspiration looks to the simplicity of the forms of the campus while alluding to the importance of the events that take place inside.
