First Baptist Church Murfreesboro – Crossroads Addition

This addition added approximately 4,800 square feet to an existing land-locked site in an urban setting. Our team collaborated with church stakeholders and together, produced a master plan to uncover the best use of both their existing facility and the small space located around the church in order to fulfill their wish to expand their programs.

The expansion creatively used an interstitial space, originally a parking lot on the church’s property, to create a connective gathering space to link the educational wings with this historic sanctuary. Additional spaces were added, including a new church library, renovated narthex that provides an ADA accessible route to the sanctuary, new public restrooms and a large atrium gathering space with a welcome desk.
