Early Childhood Therapy Space

United Cerebral Palsy of Central Arizona Laura Dozer Center

Phoenix, AZ

A new home for the Laura Dozer Center for UCP of Central Arizona means 20,250 SF of indoor and outdoor space specially created for the unique programs provided by the center. Entrance to the campus literally starts with hope. As families, children and adults approach The HopeBuilding they will be greeted by a cheerful reception area, specifically designed to make visitors, of any age, feel at home.

The Nurture Building is dedicated to teaching, training, and maximizing the abilities of the center’s smallest children. From the Early Intervention center to speech and physical therapy, children are challenged, nurtured and taught to make the most of their developmental capabilities.
The Believe Building is centered around making life’s everyday activities a reality for disabled children and adults. This building is also focused on integrating therapies for both indoor and outdoor environments. Garden walks and varied patio layouts create real-world situations that test and improve upon a person’s “indoor” therapy sessions.

Finally, the Imagine Building takes care of the center’s toddlers. Toddlers are a particularly special group– careful attention was given to the design of the next step in their developmental path. A stimulating and imaginative “natural environment” was designed to complement activities provided in the story time center as well as in the therapy-based childcare facility for children ages 3-5.
