Creating a Sense of Welcome, Home, and Community

Moving into a senior living community can be a daunting prospect for many since they will be leaving their homes that have been a familiar place for years, if not decades. However, independent living (IL) has evolved dramatically in the past decade. Independent living is defined as any housing arrangement designed exclusively for older adults, generally those aged 55 and over. The offerings of independent living residences varies widely, from apartment-style living to single-family detached homes.

Orcutt | Winslow’s Senior Living studio is dedicated to creating a sense of welcome, home and community. Our passion for creating amazing spaces for seniors is exuded in the high quality design and attention to detail with projects spanning coast to coast.

Amenities and Activities Provide a Sense of Community and Connection

Our IL design philosophy is intended to be friendly and familiar to residents and the staff who work at these communities. Unlike, traditional multi-family projects, independent living tends to be more compact, with easier navigation and no maintenance or yard work needed by the resident.

While IL residents live independently, most communities offer amenities, activities, and services. Many of our independent living projects feature clubhouses to give residents the opportunity to connect with their neighbors and participate in community activities, such as arts and crafts, holiday/religious gatherings, continuing education classes, or movie nights.

Our Independent Living communities often feature additional amenities such as swimming pools, fitness centers, tennis courts and even a mini golf course. Our designs typically feature onsite spas, beauty and barber salons. Many of our clients offer daily meals, and basic housekeeping and laundry services to IL residents.
